As an interior decorator, I had the challenge of covering up a dated, full wall of mirrors in a bathroom (who wants to see that much of themselves anyway???). I took readymade curtains from a retailer, sewed them together side to side, and added a contrasting border at the bottom of the panels with some decorative trim at the seam. I then used this product along the top to shirr the fabric. I mounted the shirred top to a 1x2 board which I had affixed to the ceiling. The effect was a floor to ceiling, wall to wall luxurious coverup of an unsightly problem. This was not a difficult sewing project because I didn't have to make the panels from scratch. What a WOW! effect.

I really liked this tape and will definitely be buying it again for other projects. This tape works especially well with heavy curtain material (to my surprise, the top of my heavy blackout curtain wound up looking better than the photo on the product info here!). You can vary the degree of fullness and the pleats still look good anyway, which I found very useful. I found when sewing this tape onto a heavy material, that I needed to use a very loose thread tension on my sewing machine.
